What do I bring to camp?
Check off your items on the packing list provided by your county. Pack light, don't bring a lot of extra stuff, and put your name on everything! Contact your organization's Camp Director or 4-H Educator for a complete packing list.
Do I sleep outside?
Campers bunk-down in rustic cabins. Each cabin sleeps up to 8-13 campers plus 2 counselors. Boys and girls reside on separate sides of camp. Located on each side are shower houses and toilet facilities.
What about meals & snack foods?
Meals are served family-style in the Dining Hall. Provided at each meal are nutritious foods - including salad & fresh fruit.
Do I have responsibilities at camp?
YES! Campers clean their cabins & restrooms, take turns setting & clearing dishes at meals, pick-up litter on trails & in facilities, and have fun. A complete list of camp rules will be sent to each camper in the camper packet which is sent out from your county.
How do I keep track of my stuff? (Lost & Found)
Please write camper's name on all items! Include everything - sleeping bags, towels, clothing, camera, etc.
Lost & Found items are collected the last day of camp and sent home with the county, please check with them first. All lost and found items during the week are turned into the Visiting Camp Director. Campers are responsible for their own things. The staff and counselors are not responsible for lost/broken items.
DO NOT send (or let kids pack) valuables!! Examples - send a disposable camera, not a digital one; pack old play clothes, not new/good clothes.
Cell phones are NOT ALLOWED.
Camp is not responsible for any lost/misplaced items!!
Who supervises Camp?
Safety at camp is our top priority. Trained 4-H Camp Counselors, Permanent Camp Staff, and County Extension Personnel supervise campers at all times. The permanent staff includes: Executive Director, Camp Manager, Program Staff and Food Service Staff. A Health Care Provider (Nurse) is available day and night. Our cooks oversee the kitchen/dining areas.
Can I ride home with somebody else after camp?
Parents, if you need to restrict who picks up your child OR if your child will be riding home with another adult, the parent/guardian MUST complete & sign a Camper Release Form and give it to the county staff at check-in. Forms are found at your County Extension Office.
For everyone's safety, all requests must be in writing or your child will not be released.
How do I register for camp and what is included in camper fees?
All registrations and costs are handled by your local 4-H County Extension Office. Camp fees include meals, insurance, programming fees.
Can I send my camper mail/emails?
Yes you can send your camper mail. Please make sure you include a return address as not all mail makes it on time.
We also have Bunk Notes which can be found on our website. NOT ALL COUNTIES PARTICIPATE IN BUNK NOTES. If your county does, you will receive the information in your packet that the county sends out. If your county does not, you will not have the necessary information to sign up and will pay for something that is not available. All emails are printed out in black and white.
